<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#444444 size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: #444444"> <BR>Il Fronte Democratico delle Filippine condanna nel modo più assoluto il sequestro e l’uccisione efferata della ventenne Rebelyn Pitao, figlia di Leoncio Pitao, comandante del Nuovo Esercito del Popolo. Riteniamo la presidente Gloria Arroyo ed il segretario esecutivo, il General Edoardo Ermita, responsabili della vigliacca violazione del diritto alla vita di Rebelyn Pitao. Si tratta, nel contempo, di una sfacciata violazione dell’Accordo Globale sul Rispetto dei Diritti Umani e del Diritto Umanitario Internazionale (CARHRIHL).</SPAN></FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#444444 size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: #444444">Il desiderio diabolico frustrato del presidente Arroyo e del generale Ermita, di sconfiggere il Nuovo Esercito del Popolo e, in particolare, di uccidere o catturare il comandante Parago, nome di guerra di Leoncio Pitao, li ha portati a violare pesantemente il diritto umanitario internazionale ed il CARHRIHL. Nel giugno dello scorso anno, il fratello del comandante Parago, Danilo, è stato rapito ed ucciso a Tagum.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#444444 size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: #444444"> <BR>Ora sua figlia Rebelyn, insegnante al College San Peter di Toril, nella città di Davao, è stata rapita da due uomini armati alle 18.30 del 4 marzo 2009, all’incrocio della Suddivisione di Bago Gallera de Oro nella città di Davao. Gli uomini armati hanno minacciato l’autista del mezzo su cui viaggiava Rebelyn, Danny E. Pelicano, hanno preso con la forza la ragazza e l’hanno obbligata a salire su un furgone bianco.</SPAN></FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#444444 size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: #444444">Quest’ultima violazione vergognosa dei diritti umani da parte del regime Arroyo e la sua continua violazione degli accordi di pace, incluso il CARHRIHL, e dell’Accordo Comune sulla Sicurezza e le Garanzie di Immunità, l’arresto recente e la tortura del collaboratore del NDFP, Eduardo Sarmiento, e la detenzione continua dei collaboratori del NDFP, Randall Echanis, Elizabeth Principe, Angie Ipong e Glicerio Pernia, tra gli altri, rendono insostenibili i colloqui di pace con il regime Arroyo.</SPAN></FONT></P>

We hold Mrs. Gloria Arroyo and Executive Secretary, General Eduardo Ermita responsible for this dastardly violation of Rebelyn Pitao's right to life. It is likewise a blatant violation of the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Mrs. Arroyo's and General Ermita's frustrated satanic desire to defeat the New People's Army and in particular kill or capture NPA Commnder Parago, nom de guerre of Leoncio Pitao, has led them to commit grave violations of international humanitarian law and the CARHRIHL. In June of last year, the brother of Commander Parago, Danilo, was abducted and killed in Tagum City .</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Now, his daugher, Rebelyn, a teacher at St. Peter College in Toril, Davao City , was abducted by two armed men at 6:30 in the evening of March 4, 2009 at the crossing of Bago Gallera de Oro Subdivision in Davao City . The gunmen threatened the tricycle driver, Danny E. Pelicano, as they forcibly took Rebelyn and forced her into a white van.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Yesterday, at 6:30 p.m., her dead body was found floating on a river, bearing torture marks. </SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">This latest outrageous human rights violation by the Arroyo regime and its continuing violation of the peace agreements, including the CARHRIHL and the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees and the recent arrest and torture of NDFP Consultant Eduardo Sarmiento and the continuing detention of NDFP consultants Randall Echanis, Elizabeth Principe, Angie Ipong and Glicerio Pernia, among others, render peace talks with the Arroyo regime untenable. </SPAN></FONT></P>
