<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><BR><FONT face="Times New Roman">La sera del 4 settembre, a Adana, una città industriale della Turchia del Sud, ha avuto luogo una partita di calcio “storica” tra la squadra locale Adana Demirspor e quella italiana dell’AS Livorno. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">Era una partita amichevole organizzata in nome dell’antirazzismo e voluta dai sostenitori di entrambe le squadre, noti come ribelli e comunisti. All’inizio della partita, i tifosi di entrambe le squadre sono entrati allo stadio con bandiere cubane raffiguranti l’immagine del Che e hanno cantato la canzone “Bella Ciao”.</FONT></SPAN></P>

La canzone italiana, partigiana “Bella Ciao” poteva essere sentita anche dalle gradinate, sia turche, sia italiane, e l’atmosfera è risultata calda e amichevole per tutta la durata della partita.</FONT></SPAN></P>

La sicurezza se n'era andata perché la folla lanciava slogan per non rimuoverlo. A quel punto, il sindaco di Adana, Aytac Durak, del Partito di estrema destra del Movimento Nazionalista (MHP) ha fatto ingresso nello stadio, è stato fischiato e la folla ha protestato contro di lui con lo slogan “Vai via, Aytac Durak, servo del fascismo!”.</FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">Mentre la partita continuava senza alcun problema, ufficiali di polizia in borghese hanno iniziato a radunarsi intorno al personale di sicurezza e hanno cercato di rovinare l’atmosfera, attaccando i tifosi dell’Adana Demirspor che avevano aperto gli striscioni a sostegno del prigioniero politico Guler Zere. </FONT></SPAN></P>

La polizia in borghese cercava di incitare i<SPAN> </SPAN>tifosi imprecando e dicendo “Sono terroristi!”</FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman">In reazione all’attacco, la folla nelle gradinate gridava “Uniti contro il fascismo!” La sicurezza privata, non in grado di gestire la situazione, si è dileguata e la polizia antisommossa è entrata nello stadio e ha iniziato ad usare manganelli e gas contro i sostenitori di Guler Zere.</FONT></SPAN></P>

Ad un giovane, che si chiama Umut Mayda, la polizia ha detto “non verrai picchiato se ci racconti cosa ti hanno detto nell’associazione”, per cercare di convincerlo<SPAN> </SPAN>a rilasciare informazioni su altri compagni. Tre fascisti hanno anche aggredito il membro dell’associazione Evrim Sahin, appena si è allontanato dallo stadio.</FONT></SPAN></P>

Nella città in cui nacque il leggendario leader comunista italiano Antonio Gramsci, non è insolito per i tifosi delle gradinate mostrare le bandiere di Che Guevara. Non è neanche insolito per loro indossare le magliette con la scritta “Stalingrado 43” in nome della città in cui<SPAN> </SPAN>il corso della guerra segnò la sconfitta delle truppe sia di Hitler, sia di Mussolini. Nel novembre 2003, i tifosi di Livorno rifiutarono di osservare un minuto di silenzio per i 19 soldati italiani uccisi in missione di supporto alla guerra statunitense a<SPAN> </SPAN>Nassiriya, in Iraq, e cantarono anche “10, 100, 1000 Nassiriya!”. Più recentemente, quando gli israeliani stavano bombardando Gaza, i tifosi di Livorno
bruciarono le bandiere israeliane in solidarietà con i palestinesi.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><BR><FONT face="Times New Roman">L’Adana Demirspor è stata originariamente costituita da ferrovieri ed è stata fondata in una città che una volta era popolata da molte migliaia di armeni, prima che fossero deportati e massacrati durante la prima guerra mondiale.</FONT></SPAN></P>

Come i tifosi di Livorno, preferiscono le bandiere rosse con la figura di Che Guevara e amano la musica della band di sinistra Grup Yorum.</FONT></SPAN></P>

Cantavano “Gli Ogun (quei giorni) vi appartengono, i giorni futuri appartengono a noi!”.</FONT></SPAN></P>

In the beginning of the march, the supporters of both teams entered the stadium with Cuban flags carrying the picture of Che and they sung Bella Ciao.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN lang=EN-GB style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"><BR><FONT face="Times New Roman">The match ended with the score nil-nil, but even if it had been different, "proletarian internationalism" would still have been the real winner. Also in the stands, the Italian partisan song "Bella Ciao" could be heard, in both Turkish and Italian, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly throughout the match. A banner in the colours of Adana Demirspor carried the picture of Guler Zere and it was written "GULER MUST NOT DIE - FREEDOM FOR GULER ZERE". Just half an hour before the start of the match, the security personnel asked them to remove the banner. The security went away after the crowd said that they won't remove the banner. At that moment the MHP (far right wing Party of Nationalist Movement) mayor Aytac Durak entered the stadium and was barracked and people protested against him with the slogan "Go away,
Aytac Durak, servant of fascism!" With the start of the march, a youth group called "Ekim Gencligi" ("October Youth") opened a banner writing "The youth is the future, the future is socialism" next to Guler Zere's banner.<BR><BR>While the match continued without any troubles plainclothes police officers started to gather around the security personnel and they tried to spoil the atmosphere by attacking supporters of Adana Demirspor who opened banners supporting the political prisoner Guler Zere. <SPAN> </SPAN>The private security personnel said "we understand you, we also don't want Guler to die" and they continued "go away from here, let those persons <BR>come who have sent you here".</FONT></SPAN></P>

More recently, when the Israelis were bombarding Gaza , fans of Livorno burned Israeli flags in solidarity with the Palestinians.<BR><BR>Adana Demirspor was originally established by railway workers and is based in a city which
once had a population of many thousands of Armenians, before they were deported and slaughtered during World War I.<BR><BR>Nonetheless, it remains a multi-ethnic city with Turks, Kurds, Turkmens, Arabs and Circassians, a counter-culture also visible among the fans. Like Livorno fans, they favour red flags with the picture of Che Guevara and like the music of the left-wing band Grup Yorum.<BR><BR>After the Turkish-Armenian ournalist Hrant Dink was murdered in January 2007, Adana Demirspor fans chanted "We are all Hrant Dink. We are all Armenians!"<BR><BR>When the team played the team from Trabzon , a more right-wing city that was home to Ogun Samast, Dink´s murderer, Adana Demirspor fans made a play on the name Ogun, which means "that day" in Turkish. They chanted, "The Oguns (these days) belong to you, the following days will belong to us!"<BR><BR>Despite their different nationality and religion, Silvio Berlusconi and Tayyip Erdogan both represent the
interests of international capitalism. But the anti-fascist fans of both Livorno and Adanaspor show that workers of different nationality and religion can also unite.<BR><BR><BR></FONT></SPAN></P>
