<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt" lang=EN-GB>We, the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), express our great concern over the policy of the Italian government to persecute members of the Party of the<B><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold"> </SPAN></B>Committees to Support Resistance – for Communism (CARC) – Italy . In particular, we denounce the arrest, detention and imposition of restrictive measures against members of the CARC in Tuscany among them CARC Secretary of Tuscany Alessandro della Malva.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt" lang=EN-GB>The above-mentioned CARC members have been subjected to political persecution for opposing the actions of fascist gangs that have sprung up in various parts of Italy encouraged by the right-wing government of Silvio Berlusconi. The restrictive measures are illegal, undemocratic and violate the spirit and principles of the Italian constitution, the fruit of the Anti-fascist Resistance.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt" lang=EN-GB>To continue imposing the restrictive measures will perpetuate an injustice that has already gone on for almost a year now. The Court of Review of Florence that will review the case of the CARC members on July 21 has the opportunity to rectify this grave injustice. On April 1, the Court of Cassation has already declared as baseless the charge of “devastation and plunder” that has been the basis used by the authorities to arrest, jail and impose other restrictive measures.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt" lang=EN-GB>We call on the Italian government to stop its policy of political persecution against the CARC. We call on the progressive organizations and parties in Italy to form a broad united front together with the CARC in resisting the growing danger of fascist resurgence in Italy . #</SPAN></FONT></P>

<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt">Noi, Lega Internazionale dei Popoli in Lotta (ILPS), esprimiamo grande preoccupazione riguardo alla politica del governo italiano che perseguita il Partito dei Comitati d’Appoggio alla Resistenza – per il Comunismo (CARC)- dell’Italia. In particolare, denunciamo l’arresto, la detenzione e l’imposizione di misure restrittive contro membri del CARC in Toscana tra i quali il Segretario dei CARC della Toscana Alessandro della Malva.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt">I membri dei CARC di cui parliamo sopra sono stati e sono perseguitati politicamente per essersi opposti alle azioni delle bande fasciste che sono sorte in varie parti d’Italia con l’incoraggiamento del governo di destra di Silvio Berlusconi. Le misure restrittive sono illegali, non democratiche e violano lo spirito e i principi della costituzione italiana, frutto della Resistenza antifascista.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt">Continuare a imporre le misure restrittive significa perpetuare un’ingiustizia che va avanti ormai quasi da un anno. La Corte del Riesame di Firenze che riconsidererà il caso dei membri del CARC il 21 luglio ha l’occasione di rettificare questa grave ingiustizia. Il 1 aprile, la Corte di Cassazione ha già dichiarato priva di fondamento l’accusa di “devastazione e saccheggio” su cui le autorità si sono basate per gli arresti, gli imprigionamenti e le misure restrittive.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=4 face=Cambria><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt">Noi chiediamo al governo italiano che interrompa questa prassi di persecuzione politica contro i CARC. Chiediamo a tutte le organizzazioni e ai partiti progressisti di formare un fronte unico vasto con i CARC per resistere contro il crescente pericolo di un nuovo insorgere del fascismo in Italia.</SPAN></FONT></P>
